Point A Lake - Point A Reservoir was impounded in the 1920s mainly to supply electrical power to local sawmills. The reservoir is still operated for hydropower generation, as well as swimming, boating, and fishing. The lake is mainly fished by local anglers for bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. The Lake covers a surface area of about 700 acres and a usable storage capacity of 2,300 acre-feet at a normal water surface elevation of 170 feel mean sea level. With a Lodge, 3 boat ramps, and a picnic area. There are miles of open water that you may travel up the Patsaliga River for fishing or an afternoon boat ride.
Fishing - The lake is mainly fished by local anglers for bass, bream, crappie, and catfish. It also has an abundant population of fish. Over 45 pounds of Flathead Catfish have been harvested from Point A in the recent past. ©2008 Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources
